Dearly beloved, I greet you in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Today is a special day! It’s my mother, Sis. Stella Dhinakaran’s birthday. After my marriage, I lost my own mother. But then, my mom, Sis. Stella Dhinakaran filled that gap. Just like a mother, she cared for me; even today, she carries me in her prayers. I am so blessed to have such a mother. Today, let’s meditate on Jeremiah 29:12, “You will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will hear your voice and listen to you.”

People usually long to be heard. That’s why we see them on Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram. They want someone to hear them. But even then, they’re not always sure someone’s really listening. But we, the children of God, long for God to hear us. David cried out in Psalm 130:2, “Lord, hear my voice. Let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.” And in Psalm 5:1, he said, “Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament.” This is the cry of many in this world. When our prayers are delayed, we cry out like David. And often, we go to the people of the world, to higher authorities, just hoping they will listen. But they may not. It’s not the same with our Lord Jesus Christ.

When Jesus was ministering on earth 2000 years ago, He was often interrupted by those who believed in Him. The woman suffering from a blood disease for 12 years interrupted Him while He was on His way to minister. Jairus, a synagogue leader, also interrupted Jesus. But Jesus was never in a hurry. He patiently listened, He stopped, and even went to their homes to heal and touch them. Everyone who came to Him received healing and miracles. When the blind man cried, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me,” Jesus could not walk further. He stood still. He called the blind man, touched him, and healed him. Jesus is listening to your heart, too. He hears your silent conversations. Many times, I’ve spoken to God like that. When I feel like no one is listening, I talk to Jesus and say, “Lord, You are listening to me. I’m talking, and You are listening.” I cannot stop talking to Him. One of my little relatives, a six-year-old girl named Jairah, once prayed in a similar way. She kept on praying, and at the end, she said, “Lord, I cannot stop talking to You because I know You’re listening to me. But for the sake of these people, I have to stop.” She was so sweet.

Dear friend, keep talking to God. Keep knocking on the door of heaven. You may feel like God is delaying, but never give up. Paul said, “Keep praying in the Spirit always.” When troubles come, and you don’t have words, pray in the Spirit. Pray in the language of God, and you will be heard. Your miracle is on the way. Don’t give up.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for always hearing me when I call. Even when no one else seems to listen, I know that You are attentive to my every word, every tear, and even my silent thoughts. I believe that You will turn toward me in favour. Thank You for being a God who listens patiently and answers powerfully. Help me, Lord, to never give up, even when answers seem delayed. Teach me to pray in the Spirit, and to believe that my miracle is on its way. Thank You, Lord, for always being so close. I completely trust You, and I will keep talking to You, for I know that You are listening. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
