God says in Exodus 33:19, “I will cause all My goodness to pass in front of you.” This is not just a promise to Moses but to all His children. He does not let His goodness merely pass by but pours it out upon us. Our God is indeed a good God. Jehoshaphat declared, “God is good. His mercies endure forever.” When enemies rose against him, he lifted his hands, led the singers to worship, and proclaimed only the goodness of God. The Lord honoured the songs of His people, destroyed their enemies, and turned their fear into victory. Jehoshaphat had only to gather the plunder and bring back riches, for God had already won the battle. Truly, His mercy endures forever, and He delights in blessing His children.
The Lord Himself declares in Jeremiah 32:40, “I will never stop doing good to you.” His nature is full of goodness, mercy, and prosperity. He calls us to turn to Him, surrender completely, and leave behind sin, fear, and trust in the world. When we say, “Lord, let Your will be done,” He causes all His goodness to come upon us. John 1:16 affirms that from His fullness we receive one blessing after another, grace upon grace, favour upon favour. This is the heart of God toward His children—an unending flow of goodness and mercy, blessing after blessing, and grace upon grace.
One beautiful testimony of His goodness is that of Sis. Alok Saha. For twenty years her husband was bound by alcohol, wasting all his earnings, while she struggled as a cook to raise their two children. Poverty, debts, and harassment from lenders crushed them, and their shabby rented home often flooded in the rains. Relatives abandoned them, and despair drove her close to ending her life. At that moment, a neighbour invited her to a Jesus Calls Prayer Tower, and soon she began watching the Jesus Calls TV programme. Hearing about Jesus filled her heart with hope, and peace replaced her suicidal thoughts. She surrendered her life to Christ and began attending prayer regularly. In 2018, during a Jesus Calls meeting in Rourkela, I had said, “Build God’s house (which is the Prayer Tower), and God will build your house.” She gave a small offering toward building a Prayer Tower, the only amount she could afford. In 2020, during the pandemic, God gave her a beautiful home in Kolkata, freed her husband from alcohol after twenty years, cancelled their debts, and blessed their family abundantly. Today her daughter is happily married, and she rejoices in her grandchildren. What a wonderful Jesus we serve. He who did it for her will also do it for you. So let not your heart be troubled, for His goodness will never fail.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I thank You for the promise of Your goodness. Just as You caused Your goodness to pass before Moses, let it overflow in my life today. Lord, I surrender my fears, my struggles, and my desires to You. Replace my weakness with Your strength, my lack with Your abundance, and my despair with Your hope. Let Your mercy endure in me and let Your blessings flow grace upon grace, blessing after blessing. Teach me to lift my voice in worship like Jehoshaphat, trusting that You will fight my battles and turn my fear into victory. Let my life testify to Your unending goodness, and let me always rest in the truth that You will never stop doing good to me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
