Hello friend, today is May 29th, my dear mother’s birthday. Every time I think of my mother, I always admire her for the silent faith that she has. Yes, the faith and the power of prayer, I learned so many things from her. As mothers, we are always scared, and we are so anxious about the things that happen in our children’s lives. I used to make fun of my mother, but then she used to say, “When you become a mother, you will realise everything.” Yes, I do realise it, but I also realise that behind all those fears, she always had so much faith that Jesus would do everything in her favour. She never showed it in a great way, but she was filled with the power of prayer. Because of that power of prayer and the faith that she had, she was able to overcome so many obstacles. Today, the Lord promises you the same thing. The Lord is going to reward you for all your faithfulness. You might be scared of many things in your life. You might be scared of the people who are trying to put you down, people who are trying to destroy you, people who are trying to throw you into jail. But today the Lord says that He is going to deliver you from all those troubles.

This is what happened to us when I was just 8 years old. We went as a family to attend a prayer meeting in Bangalore. So we travelled in two cars. One car was full of the adults, my parents, my cousins’ parents and everybody. And the second car was filled with all the cousins, and we were all coming together. When we were just entering Bangalore, there was a group of people who saw the cross symbol in our car and stopped my mom and dad’s car. They did not stop us; we crossed, and we left. After almost one hour, my mother calls, and she says, “Shilpa, we are all stopped at this place, and they are trying to kill us. They are going to burn the car down. So just be careful.” We were so scared, we didn’t know what to do, and we went back looking for them. The group of people stopped the car because we were going to the prayer meeting. There were almost 10 people, and one person from that group recognised my parents. They said, “Oh, they are very good dentists from Tirunelveli. Don’t do anything to them. They are good people.” And that’s when I realised, even in the midst of that trouble, God’s favour was upon us. Even through the enemies, God granted us favour.

We were so scared in the other car. We were thinking, “Oh Jesus, I am wearing a cross, I am wearing a t-shirt, will I be killed?” But my mother was carrying her red colour Bible in her hand, and she was walking across, not scared about anything. She had the faith that God would deliver her. And yes, God delivered us and has been with us throughout all these years because of the faith that she had. That’s what the Bible says in Numbers 21:34: “Do not be afraid of him, for I have delivered him into your hands.” I am sure my mother would have felt so scared at that point, but the Lord delivered the enemies into our hands, and we got favour. In the same way, the Lord will bless your faith, my dear friend. When you had a chance to put down Jesus, you never put Him down. When you had a chance to deny Him, you never denied Him. So the Lord will bless you.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I thank You for always being with me through every fear and every trial. When my heart feels anxious, help me to trust You completely. Fill me with unwavering faith in You. Give me the courage to stand for You and never deny Your name. Let Your favour go before me and protect me from every danger. Deliver me from every evil plan and every trouble surrounding my life. Let my life become a testimony of Your faithfulness and goodness. I believe that You will never fail me, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
