Dear friend, we are going to experience an overflowing of God’s abundance. Because you have chosen Him, His goodness will follow you like a flood. Let us choose to listen to His word today from Proverbs 14:27, where it says, “The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life.” The fear of the Lord is the beginning of everything, the beginning of wisdom, the Bible says. It is where life flows and springs forth. Here, it says it turns a person away from the snares of death in his life. The things that come to make us die in our lives, we escape them thanks to the fear of God.

If you look at the traffic in different parts of India, in some cities where they respect the traffic rules and the police, the flow of traffic is so beautiful and perfect. Every car goes how it’s supposed to. But in places where they don’t respect the rules, in the same flowing lane, one car will come this side, and another will come in the opposite direction in the same lane. There will be total chaos and a traffic jam. That’s how our life also is. When we respect the Lord so much, when we fear that God should be pleased, and we know He is watching over our lives, we obey Him. Then we receive the fountain of life, which God gives.

In other words, it means protecting ourselves in purity and in the will of God, and then the Lord will be pleased. Joseph did exactly that when his master’s wife tempted him to have a wrong relationship with her. That was the snare of death pulling him away from God. But he chose to say no. If he had said yes, Joseph would have lost his integrity, his speciality, his focus, and the trust of his master’s house. He would have been trapped in her web and her politics and never risen to stand next to the king of Egypt. But because Joseph chose to fear the Lord, even though his path went through prison, the Lord made him surpass prison and reach the king. He ruled over the country itself. The fear of the Lord is the fountain of your life, making you escape from death and rise to great heights.

PRAYER: 
Dear Lord, place this reverential fear deep within my heart. Let my life grow because of this fear, and let that holy fear be the foundation of my life. Help me to do everything, knowing that You are watching me and to choose what pleases You. Help me to fulfill Your will and protect my purity. Help me to be faithful to all that You have commanded. I dedicate and commit my life to Your hands. Honour me and raise me up, Lord, according to Your will. Let there be a fountain of blessing in my life. Let me feel Your life running through me, and let me prosper in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
