Friends, today the Lord promises, “The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever” (Isaiah 32:17). He is going to fill you with His peace. So many times, we take this peace for granted. But only when you hear about what so many people are going through do you realise that God has filled you with that peace.

I want to share an incident that happened recently in my life. I met my professor after 10 or 15 years. He is a surgeon; he operates on the human body and is very famous in his field. But he is an atheist and does not believe in God. He asked me, “Shilpa, how are you so sure that God is real?” I thought he would ask me something about my course or my studies. But suddenly, he asked me, “Tell me one thing that proves that God is real.” Immediately, the first thing that came to my mind was the peace of God. I told him, “Sir, the peace that God gives us is different from the peace in this world. It is the peace that tells us that God will take care of everything in our lives, even if things go wrong, even if there is a huge gap in your career, or even if there are troubles at home. That peace of God will tell you that God will take care of everything.” I told him the same thing, and he was so shocked that he could not reply.

Yes, the Lord promises that He is going to fill you with that peace today. Yes, the peace that God gives us will be so quiet and so tender. And when you are filled with this peace, people around you will also know about it. They will know that something is different in this person. Let us read Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all the joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I pray for Your children to be filled with Your peace, Father. Yes, Lord, we are committing all our lives into Your hands. Fill them with Your peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding. Even if things are going wrong around them, Father, let them be filled with Your peace. Even if things do not go as they planned, let them be filled with Your peace. Help them commit their lives into Your hands and place their children’s lives in Your care. Thank You, Lord, for being in charge of their lives and for taking care of their children. Bless each one with Your peace. Let there be peace in their homes, workplaces, and everywhere they go. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
