My precious child of God, I greet you in the mighty and precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Today, God's promise is from Proverbs 19:11, “A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.” This verse teaches us that true wisdom is seen in our patience, and our glory is revealed when we forgive and overlook wrongs done to us. Many times, our human nature makes us quick to anger, eager for revenge, and slow to forgive. We might carry bitterness in our hearts or make silent plans to harm those who have hurt us. But the Bible reminds us that this is not the way of God’s children. In Daniel 9:9, the Word says, “The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him.” How true this is! Though we often fail, though we have been ungrateful and stubborn, our loving God continues to forgive and surround us with His mercy. Isaiah 55:7 says, “Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” What a merciful God we serve!
Let us look at the example of Saul in Acts 9. He was a man filled with wrath and hatred, persecuting and destroying the people of God. As Romans 9:22–23 says, he was a vessel of wrath, but God, in His mercy, turned him into a vessel of mercy. On the road to Damascus, the Lord Jesus appeared to Saul and transformed his life completely. The one who once destroyed others became a preacher of life, grace, and salvation. This same God can change you too. You may have anger in your heart toward someone. You may be holding grudges or wishing evil upon another. But the Lord says to you today, “My son, My daughter, forgive and forget.” When we forgive, we open our hearts to healing. When we release others, we are released ourselves. Our transformation begins at the foot of the Cross, where Jesus shed His blood for us. As it is written in Hebrews 9:22, “Without shedding of blood there is no remission.” Only through the blood of Jesus can hatred be washed away and replaced with divine love.
The Apostle Paul experienced this miracle of transformation. He declared in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” This must be our experience too. When Christ lives in us, our hearts change. We learn to bear one another, forgive one another, and love as He loved us. Ephesians 4:32 and Colossians 3:13 teach us, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” My dear friend, let us not hold on to anger. Let us not repay evil for evil. Instead, let us show mercy, for mercy triumphs over judgment. Let the love of Jesus fill your heart so completely that bitterness has no room to stay. Today, if you will humble yourself before God, He will cleanse you by His blood, fill you with His Holy Spirit, and give you a new life full of love, peace, and forgiveness.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your unchanging mercy and love. Forgive me, Lord, for the anger and bitterness I have held in my heart. Cleanse me with the precious blood of Jesus. Help me to forgive those who have hurt me, just as You have forgiven me. Fill me with Your peace and compassion toward everyone around me. Transform my heart to reflect the life of Christ within me. Teach me to walk in humility, patience, and love. Let my life be a vessel of mercy and grace to others. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name I pray, Amen.
