My dear friend, the Lord is with us to carry us as His little child today. He is feeding us His promise as per Job 5:11, “He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.” Yes, those who feel like they are at the bottom in life, struggling without help, the Lord sets them on high by lifting them up. But that is not how this world operates. I once heard someone speak about a nation and its government, how the government intentionally keeps the people down. They keep them uneducated, ensure they live in poverty, and deny opportunities for them to rise. Through corrupt ways, they exploit, take away money, possessions, and land, leaving the people empty and dependent on the government for survival, so that those in power may grow richer and remain in control.
That is how the world works, but the heart of our God is completely different. He looks to set on high those who are lowly and to lift up those who mourn. He does not want His children to live under oppression or remain in a low position. He has even prepared His glorious place in heaven for us, as He told the thief on the cross, “Today you will be with Me in paradise.” God desires to bring His children into a high position with Him. Yet when God lifts you up, always remember to stay humble before Him, keeping a lowly heart so that He can lift you again and again. If pride enters your spirit and you exalt yourself, the Lord cannot lift you higher. Holiness and humility keep the way open for God’s continual promotion in your life.
Therefore, never despise those who are lowly. Do not think less of them, for God has determined to set such people on high. Love them, pray for them when they cross your path, and help them in their journey. Open your heart to the lowly just as the Lord has opened His heart to you. Today, let us receive this wonderful gift of elevation from the Lord and walk in the joy of being lifted up by His hand.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I thank You for being the One who lifts the lowly and comforts those who mourn. Even now, You see my pain, my everyday struggles, and my silent tears. Thank You, Lord, for promising to set me on high and for preparing a glorious place for me in Your presence. Please keep my heart humble and my spirit pure so that I can always be ready for Your lifting hand. Teach me to love and care for those who are lowly, to pray for them, and to help them as You have helped me. Let my life be a testimony of Your compassion and grace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
