“I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him” (I Samuel 1:27). God has granted me what I have asked Him for. How do we get what we ask of God? Jesus said in Matthew 7:7, Ask and it shall be given, and the same truth is found in Mark 11:24. But we must ask with the right motive before God. James 4:3 says, When you ask, you do not receive because you are asking with wrong motives, only to satisfy your pleasures. Ask with the right motive, and what you ask, you will have. Secondly, the Lord Jesus says we must believe that what we ask from God, we will receive. Matthew 21:22 and I John 5:15 say that when we ask God, we know that He hears us, and we will have what we have asked of the Lord.
Thirdly, we must ask according to the Word of God. John 15:7 says, If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, whatever you wish, it will be done for you. So read the Bible, read the Word of God, claim the promises of God, and ask God to fulfill what He has written in the Scriptures, and you will have it. Desire it, and that wish will be fulfilled. Do not ask for worldly or lustful things, but ask God for what He has promised in His Word, and God’s heavenly blessings will come to you. Fourthly, ask according to the will of God. God has planned everything for you even before the foundation of the world (Hebrews 4:3). Ask the Holy Spirit, according to Romans 8:26–27, to show you God’s will. I John 5:14 says this is our confidence that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
Fifthly, when you ask, saying, Lord, I must do Your will, He will answer what you pray for. I John 3:21–22 says whatever we ask, God will give, when we do what is pleasing in His sight. Sixthly, when you bear fruit for God’s kingdom, whatever you ask, God will provide. John 15:16 says, When you bear fruit, whatever you ask in the name of Jesus, the Father will give you. When you ask Jesus to heal, He heals. When you ask God to provide for the poor, He answers. When you ask God to transform lives and give salvation, He answers. These are fruits for God’s kingdom, and John 16:24 says, Ask, and your joy will be full. Never say, I prayed and lived holy, so I got the miracle. Rejoice in God’s mercy. Then He will give exceedingly abundantly above all you ask (Ephesians 3:20), and He will rejoice over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). May God give you these blessings.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for hearing me when I pray. Please teach me to ask from You with pure motives and a trusting heart. Help me to believe in Your Word and claim Your promises. Reveal Your will to me through Your Holy Spirit. Lord, let my prayers bear fruit for Your kingdom, and fill my life with joy as You bring answers to my prayers. I rejoice in Your mercy alone. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
