Dear friend, as in Isaiah 43:2, may the Lord be with you. The Lord says, "When you go through deep waters, I will be with you." In Psalm 124:2-4, David prays, "If it had not been the Lord who was on our side when men rose up against us, then they would have quickly swallowed us alive. Then the waters would have engulfed us." Here, “waters” represent the pain and troubles of life. And not just waters, deep waters. Yet, even when you go through deep waters, the Lord says, “I will be with you.” In Psalm 18:16, David declares, "He reached down from on high and took hold of me. He drew me from deep waters." The enemies of David threatened his ruin. They even threatened to take his life. That’s why, in verse 18, he says, “They attacked me at a moment when I was in distress, but the Lord was my support.” And in verse 19, he joyfully proclaims, “He brought me out into a broad place. He rescued me because He was pleased with me and delighted in me.” Yes, God is a very present help in times of trouble. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
Let me share a beautiful testimony of Bro. Johnson Dhinakran. He has three children. His father had built two houses, one for him and one for his brother. As he had to move to another place, he rented out his house to a prominent lawyer. Initially, the lawyer paid rent for a few months, but then stopped altogether. When Bro. Johnson asked about it, the lawyer ignored him. Later, he began to argue with him. So, Bro. Johnson went to a nearby police station and filed a complaint. But the lawyer retaliated and filed a false case against him, accusing him of using inappropriate words. This situation caused great distress. Bro. Johnson could not sleep. He couldn’t eat properly. In his desperation, he went to the Jesus Calls Prayer Tower nearby. He asked the prayer intercessors to pray for him, and they gave him a beautiful promise verse: “Men will rise against men.” And indeed, that’s exactly what happened.
Others began to rise against the lawyer who had filed a false case. Eventually, the lawyer vacated the house. Not only that, he also paid the full amount of rent that was due. Isn’t it the hand of God? Bro. Johnson was so happy. He returned to the Prayer Tower and thanked the Lord. Truly, the Lord brought Bro. Johnson out of the deep waters. Yes, the Lord was with him, and He will be with you too, dear friend. Whatever deep waters you are going through, the Lord will lift you up. He will stretch out His hand and pull you out.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for Your unfailing presence in life’s deep waters. When troubles rise like a flood, You are my firm support. Even when I feel surrounded by despair, You reach down to rescue me. You are my refuge, my strength, my very present help in trouble. Just as You were with David, be with me in my distress. Lift me up when enemies rise against me and engulf me with fear. Bring me into a broad and peaceful place, where Your joy abounds. I trust in Your delight over me, even in my weakness. Let Your Holy Spirit raise a standard when darkness comes rushing in. In every storm, I cling to Your promise that You will be me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
