My dear friend, it is such a joy to bring God's word to you and to bless you. The Word of God in Colossians 3:14 says, “Above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.” This is an amazing truth. The verse glorifies the love that comes from God, a love that is not human, but divine. The Scripture tells us that love brings perfection. It perfects all the other attributes of God’s character in us. His kindness, patience, humility, and power. Without love, all our actions remain incomplete, but with love, everything is made whole. Love is the crown that brings all other virtues together in harmony. The perfection of our character, the perfection of God’s power working through us, the perfection of all God’s ways in us are all triggered only by love.
When we stand before people, hearing their struggles, burdens, and requests, something powerful happens. The Holy Spirit pours the love of God into our hearts, and that love compels us to act. It may trigger a simple act of kindness, or it may unlock a great plan of God that brings solutions for many. At times, it releases the power of the Holy Spirit to work miracles, to speak words of prophecy, or to lead a soul into the love and salvation of Jesus Christ. All these flow out of divine love. Human love is often conditional and short-lived, but the love of God is eternal, pure, and full of compassion. This love is the key that unlocks God’s blessings in our lives and in the lives of others. That is why the Word exhorts us to “put on love.” Without it, even our good character can become self-centered. But with it, our character is transformed into godliness, working not for ourselves but for others, reflecting Christ’s heart.
Therefore, my friend, let us seek the love that comes from God. Let us not rely on our limited human affection, but allow the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with divine love. When we put on this love, it will empower us to forgive, to encourage, to serve, and to minister in ways that glorify God. It will bring perfection to our Christian walk, making us fruitful and effective in His kingdom. Love never fails, because love is God Himself working in us and through us. Shall we then put on love today? Shall we open our hearts to receive His compassion, His kindness, and His mercy? If we do so, He will use us to fulfill His plans, to work His miracles, and to bless countless lives through us. Truly, love is the bond of perfection.
Prayer:
Father in heaven, thank You for teaching me about love. Thank You for showing me that love is the bond of perfection. Fill my heart with Your divine, unconditional love. Help me to go beyond human character into godly character. Pour Your compassion into me through the Holy Spirit. Enable me to care for others more than myself. Let Your love unlock acts of kindness and mighty plans through me. Use me to bring miracles, salvation, and hope to others. Make me an instrument of Your perfect love in this world. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, Amen.
