My friend, "The Lord longs to be gracious to you" (Isaiah 30:18). This is God’s promise for you. Yes, the Lord will be gracious to you because He is a gracious God. Many times, we think God is a God of justice, but He does justice to be gracious to you. First of all, God is gracious to those who repent and turn to Him. II Chronicles 30:9 says, ‘If you return to the Lord, your God will be gracious and compassionate to you. He will not turn His face from you; He will establish you in your land.’ My friend, Nehemiah 9:31, also says, ‘God is gracious to those who repent and turn to Him.’ The same God expects us to be gracious also. Ecclesiastes 10:12 says, ‘Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious.’ Proverbs 16:24 adds, ‘Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.’ God wants you to have such grace, to bring healing, sweetness, and comfort to others, even to the wildest enemy. The Lord has forgiven us through His mercy; let us also be gracious to others.

“Secondly, in our conversation, we need to be gracious. Colossians 4:6 says, ‘Let your conversation be always full of grace, so that you may know how to answer everyone.’ The Lord does not want us to be confrontational. We need to be full of grace all the time so that nobody will speak against us or overcome us. And thirdly, God wants every husband to be gracious to their wives. I Peter 3:7 says, ‘Husbands, your wives are heirs with you of the gracious gift of life. So you have to be gracious as you live with your wives.’ Yes, treat them with respect so that nothing will hinder your prayers. We need to be gracious to our spouses, not confrontational, never accusing, but humble, loving, and honouring one another so that our prayers may not be hindered and we remain connected to God.”

“And fourthly, be gracious in your giving. The righteous give generously and graciously out of compassion. May God give you this grace so that in everything, God will be gracious to you. The Lord, who longs to be gracious, will pour His grace upon you as you walk in repentance, speak with kindness, love your family with humility, and give with compassion. Truly, the God of grace desires to make your life a channel of His graciousness to the world.

PRAYER:
Gracious Lord, You are full of compassion and mercy. Thank You for longing to be gracious to me every day. Please teach me to return to You with a humble and repentant heart. Let the words of my mouth be seasoned with grace, sweetness, and healing for others. Help me to show kindness even to those who oppose me. Let my conversations reflect Your love and harmony. Please help us as a family to be gracious and loving to each other, and honour one another. Grant me a generous heart that is gracious in giving, just as You are to me. Let Your grace overflow through me and touch every life I meet. In Jesus’ precious name, I pray, Amen.
