My dear friends, are you a righteous person? Yes, the Lord promises great blessings when we are righteous. Proverbs 13:25 says, “The righteous eat to their heart's content.” What does this mean? Does it mean that they will keep on eating? No. It means that the Lord will make them contented in every aspect of their lives. They will have no trouble and no wants. The Lord will bless them and honor them to great heights.

Yes, this happened recently in my life. In one of my exams, while I was writing, I missed an important point. It was during my practical examination, and I did not realize my mistake until I went and sat for the viva session. I am sure many of you can imagine how I would have felt. During the viva, the professor asked me, “Did you do this?” Immediately, I thought, “Lord, that’s it. I’m done. I have to come back and write this exam next year.” But then I realized that I had to tell the truth. So, I told him, “Sir, no. I totally forgot to do this.” Immediately, I saw the professor’s face change. He became very angry. But then he said, “I’ll give you 10 minutes. Go and do it again and come back.” So, I did it again and returned. When I came back, he told me something that really touched me. He said, “Shilpa, you have made such a big mistake. You could even fail because of this. But because you were truthful and because you accepted your mistake, I am willing to forgive you.”

Yes, my dear friends, this is how we experience the favor of the Lord when we are truthful and righteous. At that moment, I thought, “Lord, whatever happens, I am going to tell the truth. Even if I fail and have to write the exam next year, it is okay.” But the Lord looks upon us with great favor when we choose to be righteous and carry His name. Today also, be a righteous person. Even when the situation is difficult, choose righteousness. The Lord will bless you. The Lord blessed me, and I passed that exam with great marks. Yes, the favor of the Lord will be upon you when you are righteous.

Dear Lord, thank You for Your wonderful blessing. Forgive me for every time I have gone away from Your ways, sinned, or lied to escape difficult situations. Help me to be truthful and righteous, even in the smallest things of my life. Give me courage to accept my mistakes and always choose what is right. Let Your favor rest upon me and Your dear children. Bless those who are writing exams; help them remember everything they have studied, perform well, and rise to great heights. May their lives bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
