Dear Friend, every one of us desires to do what is right before God. We never want to do wrong or be drawn into things that lead us to sin. Yet, as the Scripture says in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “God has set the world in the human heart.” Because of this, our hearts often get pulled toward worldly desires and pleasures. Even the apostle Paul confessed in Romans 7:19, “For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.” This is the struggle of every human being. The flesh pulls us toward wrong, but the Spirit of God calls us to do what is right. That is why we must seek the Lord daily. Proverbs 28:5 says, “Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully.” When we seek God with all our heart, He gives us the wisdom to know what is right and the strength to do it.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” God is not far away; He is near to all who call on Him (Acts 17:27). When you say, “Lord, help me. Fill me with Your Spirit. Give me Your nature,” He comes close to you and gives you His strength. That’s why the Psalmist declared in Psalm 16:8, “I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” When the Lord is before you, you will not be moved to do wrong. You will walk in truth and purity. Seeking the Lord keeps your heart soft and sensitive to what is right. Each day, as you pray and look to Him, His nature grows in you, His Spirit guides your thoughts, and His presence becomes your strength.
Even if you have done wrong in the past, God’s mercy is still available. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will forgive their sin and heal their land.” When you seek His face sincerely, He will forgive, cleanse, and heal your life, your family, and even your work. Psalm 34:10 promises that “those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” God will make you prosper as He did for Isaac in Genesis 26:12–13 — blessing you a hundredfold in everything you do. The more you seek Him, the more you’ll know what is right and the easier it will be to do it. May the Lord fill you with His Spirit, guide you in His truth, and bless you abundantly in all you do.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father, Thank You for giving me the desire to do what is right. Help me to overcome the temptations of the world. Fill me with Your Spirit and Your nature, Lord. Teach me to seek You in every decision I make. Forgive me for the times I have done wrong. Cleanse my heart and make me pure before You. Heal my family, my work, and my soul. Let me prosper a hundred times as I follow Your ways. Help me to delight in Your presence every day. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen.
