My friend, we are going to dive deep into a beautiful prayer that goes like this: "O Lord, may my meditation be pleasing to You." The Psalmist in Psalm 104:34 says, “May my meditation be pleasing to Him, as I rejoice in the Lord.” In other words, he says, “I will rejoice in the Lord, and that meditation will be pleasing to the Lord.” The Lord Jesus doesn’t want you to worry. He says, “Don’t worry, My child. By worrying, can you add a cubit to your size? Why do you worry?” Cast all your burdens on the Lord. This is the heart of Jesus: My child should not worry. Always, My child should rejoice in Me, saying, “I am a good God. I am their Saviour. I am God with them. I am the Anointed One. I will provide.” My child should recognise it.
As you recognise and rejoice in this loving Lord Jesus, your meditation of Him becomes pleasing in His sight. How do you do that? Psalm 49:3 says, when you meditate on the goodness of God and rejoice, it will give you understanding and show you which way to go. The Holy Spirit within you will rise up when you rejoice and praise the Lord. He will lead you into the plan of God. As Psalm 19:14 says, the words of your mouth will come forth as you meditate and rejoice in the Lord, and God will answer your prayer. Many times, we say, “I don’t know how to pray.” We pour out our complaints, murmur, and groan. We question God. But when we meditate and rejoice in His goodness, words carrying God’s plan come into our mouths, and that prayer is answered by God.
Joshua 1:8 says, “Keep the Word of God, which is in the Scriptures, and meditate and pray.” Then, as Joshua 1:9 declares, you will feel the presence of God, become strong and courageous, and God will go with you wherever you go. In Genesis 24:63, as Isaac waited for a wife, he was meditating on God’s plan for his life, praying and rejoicing that God would provide the right person. Even as he meditated, his wife was already on the way, carrying the camels into his camp. God will provide the right partner in your life, also. Just meditate on the goodness of God, rejoice, and read His Word. As you rejoice, the Word of God will come out of your mouth, your prayer will rise, and the answer will come from God. Your heart will burn, and you will speak with your tongue, as Psalm 39:3 says, while you meditate before the Lord, and the answer will come.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, let my prayer and meditation on Your word be pleasing to You, always. Please teach me to cast all my worries at Your feet and to rest in Your truth that You are a good God, my Saviour, my Provider, and my ever-present help in times of trouble. Let my heart always rejoice in Your presence, believing that You are faithful to lead me in the right way. Holy Spirit, fill my mind with thoughts of Your goodness and my mouth with words that please You. Let my prayers flow from a grateful heart and not from a complaining or fearful heart. I thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayer, for being near to me, and for answering in Your perfect way. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
