My friend, I want to talk to you about the reward for your righteousness. In Psalm 5:12, the Bible says, “The Lord blesses the righteous, and He surrounds the righteous with His favour as with a shield.” He blesses the righteous people, and He surrounds the righteous person with His protection. How important righteousness is. Do not be afraid, God will make you a righteous person. You will be righteous in the eyes of your own soul. Your heart will say you are a righteous person. Your family will say you are a righteous person. The people of the world will say you are a righteous person. And God says, "You are a righteous one”. He has purchased you with the blood that He shed for you on the cross, and by His blood, you become righteous. So, He values you and your soul. He is living in your body, and He is proud of you as His righteous son, His righteous daughter. I know you long to be called righteous by God. May this grace come upon you right now.
In the Bible, you see that righteous people walked with God, or rather, they were righteous, and so God walked with them. Read about Noah in Genesis 6:9. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. This is the act of righteousness. Even among wicked people, he was called blameless. Yes, when Jesus stood before Pontius Pilate, he said, “I see no fault in this man.” And the Roman soldier at the cross said, “Truly this is a righteous man.” What is walking faithfully with God? Doing everything which God asks you to do. Today, you may not hear or see God face to face, but God speaks through His Word and through the Holy Spirit in your heart. Just do what God asks you to do. Then the water will turn into sweet wine. You may give only water to your family, but when they receive it, it will be sweet and blessed. Everything you do will be wonderful. Your family will rejoice over you. Your work will be blessed. Your bosses and those around you will rejoice over you. This is the grace God gives you to walk faithfully with Him. You shall be blameless, you shall walk with God, and the blessings of righteousness will be upon you.
Secondly, how will you be righteous? When you believe the Lord. Genesis 15:6 says Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, and he received the promise even at 100 years old. Righteousness brings the fulfillment of God’s promises in your life. Thirdly, when you do justice to the poor, you will be righteous before God (I Samuel 26:23). Fourthly, when you thank God for all His goodness, you will be righteous (Psalm 7:17). Fifthly, when your soul is restored to God, you will be righteous (Psalm 23:3). Proverbs 14:34 says righteousness exalts a nation. And when you care for the poor, the hungry, and the naked, your righteousness will go before you (Isaiah 58:7–8). Finally, when you are persecuted for Jesus, you become a righteous person (Matthew 5:10). Today, are you persecuted for the name of Jesus? God says you are a righteous person. God will walk with you and provide every blessing.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for surrounding me with Your favour like a shield. Make me righteous in Your sight, and align my heart with Your will. Let Your favour go before me and make every crooked path straight. Guard my mind from fear and my heart from doubt. Cover me in moments seen and unseen, and let Your presence be my confidence. Open doors no man can shut, and lead me into Your divine purpose. Let Your blessing rest upon my life and overflow to others. Strengthen me to walk each day uprightly. I trust in Your protection and Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
