My precious child of God, I greet you in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Today, we reflect on the promise verse from Matthew 5:13, which says, “You are the salt of the earth.” Yes, you are the salt of the earth!

We all know how important salt is. Without enough salt, any food we prepare will leave people disappointed. They’ll say, “Something is missing. This doesn’t taste right.” Salt is essential. In the same way, Mark 9:50 reminds us by saying, “Have salt in yourselves and be at peace with one another.” God’s Word teaches us that our lives should have salt, enough salt, meaning we should be a blessing to others. Whatever we speak, whatever we do, it should be like adding salt to food, bringing out goodness, preserving peace, and adding grace. If you turn to Genesis 49:22, you’ll see that Joseph’s life was just like that when it says, “Joseph is a fruitful vine.” His life overflowed with goodness, full of salt. You and I, we are called to be the same. But how can we live such a life? How do we become “salty” in spirit? Read John 15:7-8 where the Lord says, “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.”

Yes, my friend, check your life today. Are you a fruit-bearing tree? Do your words, your deeds, carry the flavour of heaven? Do they preserve peace? Do they bless others? Ask the Lord to fill you with His presence. He will guide you. He will season your life with His Spirit, so that you become salt wherever you go. And you will shine for His glory!

PRAYER:
Loving heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to be the salt of the earth. Please help me to live a life that blesses others, preserving peace and bearing good fruit. Teach me to abide in You daily, so that Your Word will dwell richly in me. Season my heart with Your Holy Spirit, that I will speak with love, act with purpose, and shine for Your glory. Let my life reflect Your goodness, and let me carry the sweet fragrance of Christ wherever I go. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
