Dear friend, what a pleasure it is to sit at the feet of God and listen to Him. Even today, He is speaking to us. In II Timothy 1:7, the Lord says, “God gave us a Spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” May that Spirit of God be upon you and take away every act of fear in your life. This Spirit is the Holy Spirit, and this verse says He works in us in three ways. He gives us power. I Corinthians 12:8-10 talks about the gifts of the Holy Spirit: the gift of wisdom and knowledge, the gift of working miracles, the gift of healing, and the gift of prophecy. These bring the power of God through us in our everyday lives.

And then the Holy Spirit pours love into our hearts. Jesus has said in the Bible that loving God and loving your neighbour are the best commandments. He wants us to love, and the Holy Spirit helps us to love people, even those who have harmed us. He makes us see them all as God’s people and makes us a blessing to them. Finally, the Holy Spirit brings self-control within us. He reminds us about the righteousness of God and the Word of God when we go through temptations, when we go through wrong thoughts, and when we are tempted to take shortcuts. He will bring the fear of God within us and remind us to be holy before Him.

My friend in college was very arrogant and a fighting person. He would always lead a gang, and he would be the leader. Nobody could oppose him. He was a terror. But somehow one person talked to him, and he submitted his heart to God. The Holy Spirit filled him, and after that, he became a new person. Right on that same college campus, he would lead all the fellowship meetings and bring people there. He would make sure everybody came, arrange everything for the meeting, and take care of all his brothers and sisters there. What a transformation through the power of the Holy Spirit. Shall we receive Him?

PRAYER: 
Loving Lord, thank You for giving me the Holy Spirit. Take away every fear and fill me with Your power, love, and self-control. Help me to walk in holiness and obey Your Word each day. Teach me to love even those who hurt me and make me a blessing to others. Strengthen me to overcome temptation and never take wrong shortcuts in life. Transform my heart completely and use me for Your glory. Let Your gifts and Your presence flow through my life. Make me a witness of Your power wherever I go. In Jesus’ precious name, I pray, Amen.
