Dear Friend in Christ, today, the Lord gives us a beautiful promise from Psalm 73:26, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” What a comforting assurance! In this world, everything around us may fail. People may disappoint us, our strength may fade, our resources may run out, and even our closest relationships may break. Jobs may fail, businesses may collapse, markets may fluctuate, and sometimes even families may misunderstand us. But in all these, the Word of God reminds us that God will never fail. When the Lord becomes your portion, He becomes your strength, your shield, and your everlasting hope. The Psalmist says, “The Lord is the portion of my inheritance.” That means God Himself becomes your everything — your peace, your supply, your confidence, and your future.

When we are joined with the Lord, we receive His strength in our spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit with Him.” Your life is not separate from Jesus. Your name, your heart, and your spirit are united with Him. That is why you can boldly say, “The Lord is the strength of my heart.” Though your flesh may grow weak, your spirit will be strong, because it is connected to the eternal source of life, Jesus Christ. He never fails. He never forsakes. Even when storms rise and the fire burns, Jesus remains unshaken. Let the world change but your heart will not fail, because the Lord is upholding you with His right hand. Remember, dear friend, God does not remove every storm, but He strengthens you to walk through it with peace.

Thomas Alva Edison once faced such a situation. When his great laboratory in Chicago was completely burned to ashes, millions of dollars worth of inventions were destroyed. Yet he calmly called his family to come and see the fire, saying, “She may never see such a big fire again.” The next day, while cleaning the ruins, he found only his photograph left unburnt. He said, “Everything is gone, but see Thomas Edison is still alive! I will begin again.” And he did. Likewise, when life seems to burn everything down, God still keeps you. Your spirit is alive. Your destiny is not destroyed. God will help you rebuild everything you have lost in a much stronger, brighter, and double-fold way. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” And Isaiah 40:31 reminds us, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” So wait upon the Lord. As Lamentations 3:24 says, “The Lord is my portion, says my soul; therefore, I will wait for Him.” The Lord will raise you up again and give you a double portion, as He did for Elisha.

Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father, I thank You for being the strength of my heart. Even when everything fails around me, You never fail, O Lord. Be my portion forever and ever. Strengthen my spirit when my flesh grows weak. Fill me with courage to face every storm of life. Restore all that I have lost, O God. Let Your grace make me strong, firm, and steadfast. Help me to rise up again like an eagle in Your strength. Let my heart remain peaceful and joyful in You always. In Jesus’ mighty and loving name, I pray. Amen.
