“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” This is God’s promise for you from Matthew 5:5. God wants you to inherit the earth. He wants you to be more than a conqueror on this earth. He wants you to have all the blessings from heaven and enjoy them as an inheritance here on earth. For that, He makes us meek people. What is the inheritance God gives us? Romans 8:17 says He gives us the inheritance of being an heir of God. As we suffer for the sake of Christ, we shall receive the glory of God, just as Jesus received glory after His suffering. Yes, you become the heir of God exactly as Jesus became the heir of God.

Secondly, the inheritance God gives us is found in I Peter 1:3. He gives us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus. Yes, we become resurrected as God’s children. We have the right to become the heirs of God and the children of God. Next, the Bible says in Hebrews 9:14 that Jesus offered Himself as a sacrifice through the eternal Spirit to cleanse our conscience from acts of death, from sin. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all the nature of sin, which becomes an inheritance from God. Yes, we become clean in this world, free from sin, and we overcome the nature of sin through the blood of Jesus.

May God give you that grace today, to cleanse you from every sin and from the nature of sin through the blood of Jesus, as an inheritance to become God’s child. According to Galatians 5:19–21, we are strengthened not to do the acts of the flesh (no sexual immorality, no impurity, no idolatry, no witchcraft, no hatred, no discord, no jealousy, no fits of rage, no selfish ambition, no dissension, no faction, no drunkenness). Yes, we inherit holiness. God gives you that grace. This is the grace God is going to put upon you and me. This is the inheritance God has given us. All that we need is to be meek, humble before God, have the fear of God as Joseph had, and say no to sin but yes to Jesus, the Holy One.

PRAYER: 
Lord Jesus, please make my heart meek and humble before You. Thank You for the divine inheritance of making me Your child and an heir of God. Please cleanse me from every sin and the nature of sin. Let Your precious blood work powerfully within me. Please strengthen me to say no to sin and yes to You. Help me to walk in holiness and have a reverential fear for You. I receive this grace from You with faith. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray, Amen.
