My dear friends, today, we are meditating on Job 23:10: “He knows the way that I take.” The verse continues, “When He has tested me, I will come forth as gold.” Today, you may feel that the Lord is testing you. You may be waiting for a job, facing criticism, or being mocked because of what you do not have. You may have lost your health or the joy in your life. Like Job, you may have lost your possessions, happiness, or something very dear to you. Just as Job suffered, you may be going through a difficult season today.

But when I read this verse, I remembered a story.  There was a farmer who planted a seed in the soil. He watered it and waited for it to grow. People passing by would say, “Where is the plant? I see only soil. There is no evidence of anything growing.” But the farmer did not dig up the soil every day to check the seed. Beneath the soil, the seed was slowly growing roots. With water and sunlight, it gradually grew above the soil, became a plant, and eventually bore fruit.

In the same way, people may look at your life and say, “Nothing is happening.” But they cannot see what God is doing beneath the surface. Behind your smile, you may be facing struggles in your health, career, or family. But as you guard your heart, remain rooted in God’s Word, listen to His voice, and obey His commands, God will build your faith, shape you, and make you strong. He will strengthen your mind, body, and spirit. Job 23:10 says, “After He has tested me, I come forth as gold.” Gold is refined by fire. Its impurities are removed, and it comes out pure and shining.

In the same way, through the difficult moments you face, God will remove what does not belong in your life. He will shape and mould you according to His will. When you come through the fire, you will shine like gold—pure, holy, and pleasing in His eyes. So, even as you walk through the fire today, put your trust in the Lord. Obey His Word and walk according to His will. Hold on to Jesus. Though you may suffer for a little while, you will come forth as gold, as we read in 1 Peter 1:6–7. Be encouraged today. Put your trust in the Lord, and He will make you shine like gold.

Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for Your wonderful promise. When Your children go through difficult moments, strengthen their faith and restore what they have lost. Give them peace, grace, and strength to trust You, obey Your Word, and guard their hearts and minds. As they walk through the fire, remove every impurity and shape them according to Your will. Help them remain rooted in Your Word, listen to Your voice, and walk in obedience. Strengthen their minds, bodies, and spirits. When they come through this difficult season, let them come forth as gold, bringing praise, glory, and honour to Your name. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
