My dear friend, it is a joy for me to see you this morning. Today, we are meditating on Daniel 6:22: “They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in His sight.” Today, are there many people hurting you? Do you feel that your name is going to be destroyed even though you have done nothing wrong? You may have been doing everything with integrity, being kind to the people around you, helping others, and doing everything with good intentions. Yet, there may be people plotting against you, making false allegations against you, or even filing false court cases against you. Perhaps, in your workplace, there are people trying to introduce new rules just to bring you down or target you. But my dear friends, as we read in this verse, even though people may try to hurt you, nothing will be able to harm you. You will be found innocent in the Lord’s sight.
That is what happened to Daniel. He was a man of prayer, faithfully carrying out his godly duties. But the people around him who were against him tried to bring him down. They persuaded the king to make a law specifically to destroy Daniel. He knew about the law, but he continued to pray. Three times a day, he prayed. His loyalty was only to the Lord. But because of the law, the king had no other choice. He had to put Daniel into the lions’ den to face the consequences. But the Lord was on Daniel’s side. He commanded His angels to shut the mouths of the lions. That is what we read in Daniel 6:22: “They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in His sight.”
Yes, this story reminds us that when people oppose us, misunderstand us, try to push us away, or file false allegations against us, they will not be able to hurt us. You will be found innocent in His sight. Daniel did not go around justifying himself, saying, “I have done nothing wrong. Look at all the things I have done. I have not done any of these things.” He did not try to justify himself or clear his own name. Instead, the Lord honoured him in the midst of his enemies and showed them that the God whom Daniel worshipped was the true God—the God whom he served and to whom he remained loyal. Today, in the same way, God will honour you in the midst of your enemies. You may be afraid today when you see the lions in your life—the allegations, court cases, accusations, or difficult situations that are coming against you. But nothing will be able to harm you. Nothing will be able to hurt you. Nothing will tarnish your name. Nothing will destroy your life. For you will be found innocent in His sight. The Lord will fight your battles. He will shut the mouths of the lions that are coming against you. So, be bold, my dear friends. Do not be afraid. God is on your side.
PRAYER:
Lord, today Your children may be looking at everything happening around them and feeling afraid. They may be asking, “I am living a righteous life. Why is this happening to me? I have held on to my faith and to everything You have told me. Why is everything coming against me?” But today, protect them, Lord. Send Your angels to guard them and shut the mouths of the lions that are against them. Let them not suffer even a single scratch, but keep them completely protected. Give them a good name as Your children who serve the living God, who is on their side and fights their battles. Thank You for this wonderful promise and for proving their innocence. Bless them and help them hold on to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
