Dear friend, we are going to meditate on John 12:15. Here, the Lord says, “Do not be afraid...see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt”. The Bible says Jesus is gentle and humble, as in Matthew 11:29. He is a King, but when He was in the world, He rode on a donkey. He is so humble, yet He is called the King of Israel. When the Lord saw Nathanael, as in John 1, and when Nathanael knew the character of Jesus, he called Him the King of Israel. We read about this in John 1:49. Jesus has all authority and power in this earth, under the earth, and above the earth, when He says, it will be done.
In Zechariah 9:9, the Bible says, “Rejoice greatly, daughter Zion! Shout, daughter Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you.” We have to rejoice all the more that He is the King. Yes, Jesus fulfills this promise. He entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey as a King, and He will be coming back again to this world. He is not only the King but the King of kings. In Revelation 19:16, the Bible says, “His name is King of Kings and Lord of Lords”. Jesus says in Revelation 22:12, “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with Me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.” Jesus is coming soon, this time riding on a white horse. His robe will be dipped in blood. He is coming soon. The King is coming to you.
In the year 2008, when I was praying that the Lord should give me a new promise for that year, the Lord showed me Zephaniah 3:15: “The King of Israel is with you.” I was greatly encouraged by reading that verse. Jesus is the King. He is coming back again to reward you according to what you have done. Are you ready to receive Him, dear friend? How much do we have to keep ourselves holy? Those who are holy will become more holy; those who are righteous will become more righteous. Do not be afraid, dear friend! Your King is coming, this time on a white horse. Keep your eyes open to receive Him. The Lord will reward you for whatever you have done, as we look unto Him. May the Lord open your eyes to see the King coming to you.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus, my King and my Saviour. Please help me to live a life that is pleasing to You. Make my heart holy and ready for Your coming. Remove every fear and fill me with Your peace. Teach me to walk in righteousness each day and to keep my eyes fixed on You always. Let me be ready when You come, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
