My friends, Today's promise from God is found in Proverbs 11:30: “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever is wise saves lives.”
Why does the Scripture say this?
If you look at the life of my grandfather, Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran, you will find the answer. Until his very last breath, he dedicated his life to serving others. He never stopped praying for those who sent their prayer requests. He faithfully responded to their letters and emails, visited the sick, prayed for them, preached wherever God opened a door, ministered through television, and counseled leaders, intellectuals, and servants of God. Whenever people came to him with great needs, he would first wait in the presence of the Lord, seek God's direction, and then minister His Word to them. This was his way of life until the very end. He did not slow down or seek comfort. Instead, he remained faithful to the calling God had given him. Many may wonder, "Why did he continue to labor so tirelessly? Couldn't he have spent his final years resting and enjoying life after all he had accomplished?" Yet, he chose a different path. He poured out every ounce of his strength for the sake of others because he understood the eternal value of investing in people's lives.
Today, millions around the world are preaching the Gospel, blessing communities, strengthening nations, and serving the Lord because of the seeds he faithfully planted. His life truly became a tree of life. Though he is remembered with gratitude by millions, the fruit of his ministry continues to multiply through the generations because of those he discipled, encouraged, and inspired to serve Christ. This is exactly what today's promise declares: “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever is wise saves lives.”
The world teaches us that wisdom is living for ourselves, accumulating wealth, and pursuing personal comfort. It even considers sacrificing our lives for others to be foolish. But God's wisdom is completely different. In His eyes, the truly wise person is one who serves others, leads people to life, and becomes a tree of life whose fruit continues to bless generations. Today, let us ask the Lord to make us such people. May our lives bear fruit that brings hope, healing, and salvation to others. As we faithfully serve Him, may our influence continue to bless many lives for generations to come.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for calling me to live a life that bears lasting fruit. Help me to walk in righteousness and faithfully serve You with all my heart. Fill me with Your compassion so that I may become a blessing to those around me. Let every gift, talent, and opportunity You have given me be used to bring hope, healing, and salvation to others. Teach me to sow faithfully without seeking my own comfort or gain. May my life become a tree of life that continues to bless generations and lead many to You. Let Your wonder-working power flow through me, and may the works You accomplish through my life glorify Your holy name. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
