My precious children of God, today’s promise is taken from Psalm 119:114. Those who have your Bibles, kindly take them and read this verse along with me: “You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.” As children of God, we should examine our lives and consider how much time we spend every day reading the Word of God. John 14:23 says, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” When we read and keep the Word of God, Father God comes and makes His home with us, and Jesus Christ stays with us.
In the Bible, we read about Mary, the sister of Martha. Luke 10:42 says that the Lord Jesus Christ spoke about her like this: “Mary has chosen the good part.” Mary chose the good part by sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to His Word. Therefore, Jesus said that she had chosen the good part. In the same way, my precious brothers and sisters, you have to read the Word of God as much as you can. When you read the Word of God like this, the Lord Himself will stay with you. You will experience His presence and receive His abundant blessings. Therefore, make God’s Word an important part of your daily life.
My mother used to do one thing when she had children. She would buy a Bible for them when they were small, when they were very young, and present it to them. Not only that, she would make them read it and understand the meaning of the verses. That is why all four of us, her children, were blessed abundantly.
Let us consider how much time we spend reading the Bible. When we give importance to the Word of God and read it regularly, we too will be blessed abundantly. Let us make sure that we are reading the Word of God as we ought to. Let us spend enough time reading it, meditating on it, and understanding its meaning. The Word of God is our hiding place and our shield. When we put our hope in His Word, the Lord Himself will be with us and guide us. According to His promise, He will surely bless our lives. So, my precious brothers and sisters, let us develop the habit of reading the Bible every day. Let us not merely own a Bible, but read it, understand it, meditate on it, and live according to it.
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, give grace to each one of Your children to read Your Word, understand its meaning, and live according to it. Let Your Word become their hiding place and shield. Just as Mary chose the good part by sitting at the feet of Jesus and hearing His Word, help them choose the good part every day. Bless them abundantly through Your Word. Just as the speaker’s mother taught her four children to read and understand the Bible, help parents guide their children in Your Word. Let every family experience Your presence, guidance, protection, and abundant blessings. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray, Amen.
