Dear friend, today we are going to meditate on Psalm 104:4, “You make Your angels winds and Your servants flames of fire.” Here we see that the whole of heaven is at His command, and this leads us to meditate on the glory of God. We meditate here on the handiwork of God. Angels are powerful agents acting on behalf of God, moving so swiftly as lightning in His service. The angels are so swift; they carry the message of God so fast. That’s what the Bible says in Hebrews 1:14—they minister, and that is why they are called ministering spirits. When Jesus ministered on this earth, angels were always on call, always ready to serve Him. That is why Jesus says in Matthew 26:53, “If I appeal to my Father, the Lord will send me more than twelve legions of angels.” Yes, angels are ministering spirits.

In Luke 22:43, before Jesus was arrested, as He prayed on the Mount of Olives, an angel from heaven appeared to Him and strengthened Him. Some angels even appear in dreams to bring messages, while others are seen with our own eyes as they protect and guard God’s people. In so many ways, angels serve the people of God, and they serve swiftly. That’s why the Bible says the Lord made His angels as winds. And secondly, the Lord makes His servants as flames of fire. Hebrews 12:29 reminds us that our God is a consuming fire. This symbolises the power of God. He purifies His people with fire and delivers them from all their sins. Where the presence of God dwells, sin cannot remain. Revelation 19:12 says His eyes are like a flame of fire, for fire is always associated with the presence of God.

For your encouragement, I would like to share this with you. Normally, after the meeting, we used to pray for people individually. As they lined up and waited for prayer, one sister, possessed by an evil spirit, suddenly began to shriek, saying, “It’s burning, it’s burning, it’s burning!” The closer she came to me, the louder she shouted. But as soon as I laid my hand upon her, the demon left her. The Lord consumes even the evil spirit! Truly, the Lord makes His servants as flames of fire. That is why every servant of God needs to be filled with God’s presence. And even today, may the fire of God come upon you.

PRAYER:
Loving Lord, I thank You that You command the hosts of heaven and send forth Your angels as winds to serve Your purpose. Lord, make me a flame of fire in Your hands and sanctify me with Your presence. Just as angels ministered unto Jesus when He was on this earth, let them also surround me and strengthen me in my times of weakness. Please, Lord, consume every sin, fear, and darkness within me with Your holy fire, and let my life shine with Your glory. Help me to walk daily in Your strength and carry Your light to others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
