My dear friend, today we're meditating on Joel 2:25, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” When we think about locusts, what do they do? They devour everything, from crops, stems, barks, flowers, leaving nothing behind. They’re destructive and relentless. In the same way, maybe you feel like everything in your life is being eaten up. Not just one problem, but many. Your finances, your health, your job, your family peace, it all feels lost at once. Every door seems shut, and it feels like there's nothing left to enjoy.
But, my dear friend, God is not done with your story. He says He will restore everything that has been taken. You might wonder, “Why restore and not just replace?” That’s because when God restores, He gives double of what was lost. Just like Job, who lost everything, his family, health, wealth, and dignity, he was left with nothing but ashes. Yet, because he held on to God and never let go, God restored him with double of what he had before. His latter days were far greater than his beginning. And that is the kind of restoration God promises you.
So even now, don’t give up. For all the years you feel were wasted, all the peace you lost, the respect that slipped away, and the hope that was crushed, God will restore it in double measure. He will not just mend the broken parts, He will overflow your life with goodness. During this time, hold on to the Lord. Have faith that He has your back. He will lift you up, give you victory, and restore to you the years that the locusts have eaten.
PRAYER:
Loving Lord, I thank You for Your loving promise that You are going to restore to me everything in double measure. I praise You, Lord, for Your mercy. Even though I am going through a season of losses, I choose to look up to You from where my help comes, and I hold on to Your promise from Joel 2:25. You are the God who restores, and not just replaces, but restores in double measure. Just like You lifted up Job, I believe that You will lift me up too. Strengthen my faith, Lord, and help me to never let go of You. I receive Your restoration, Your healing, and Your miracle today. I believe that the best is yet to come in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
