Dear friend, I wish you a very happy Christmas. Celebrate Jesus today. Today’s promise verse is from Psalm 87:7, “The singers as well as the players of flutes will say, ‘All my springs and sources of joy are in You.’” In Israel, music is given great importance. It is used to express joy and reverence toward God. When we go there, we have seen children and others singing, dancing, and praising God with great happiness. They have different types of musical instruments. At our Israel Prayer Tower, too, people come, worship, dance, and make music to the Lord. One sister, named Irene, used to bring her harp and play it beautifully in the Prayer Tower. As she was playing the harp, we happened to go there. My husband, when he saw her, said, “Play it again! Why did you stop? It is bringing so much joy as I’m listening to your music.” Yes, dear friend, in Jerusalem, people were dancing, making music, and worshipping God, saying, “All my springs and sources of joy are in You.” Musicians play a vital role in temple worship.
David appointed musicians in the temple to worship the Lord twenty-four hours a day. Yes, dear friend, music brings joy to our hearts. When David played the harp before King Saul, he was delivered from the oppression of the evil spirit. Music is used to heal people; it is used to worship the Lord. So, dear friend, surrender yourself to praise God. True joy comes from a relationship with God. The Israelites once sang as in Numbers 21:17, “Spring up, oh well, sing to it.” The Lord was rising within them when they were singing. The fountain of joy was springing up from within them.
Today, Jesus is our spring and source of joy. Jesus says in John 4:14, “Whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again, but the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water.” This living water satisfies our thirst for God. The water that the Lord Jesus gives flows continuously, bubbles within us, and springs up to eternal life. Yes, dear friend, life flows from Jesus. Jesus is the fountain of life. In Jesus we live, move, and exist. In Jesus, we have our being. In Jesus is the spring of life and joy. He is the source of all our blessings. May the Lord spring within you. May the water of life flow from within you. Even today, the Lord is going to give you the joy of Christmas. May the Lord be born within you, and fill you with His joy.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, thank You for coming into this world to give me joy and life in abundance. Even now, pour out Your living water upon me, Lord, for I am thirsty for You. Let the fountain of living waters flow within me, and let it spring up and overflow. I rejoice in You, Lord Jesus, for You are filling me with Your anointing. Thank You, Lord, for pouring out Your waters upon me. Let it continuously flow, and let it bubble within me, Lord. Let me sing and rejoice in You. Bless me, Lord, with the real joy of Christmas. Let all the dead things in my life come alive by Your power and prosper me even now. Let Your joy overflow through me to others also. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
