Dear friend, as it is written in Isaiah 62:5, “As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.” The Lord loved to dwell in the midst of His people Israel, and in Isaiah 65:19 He declares, “I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in My people.” Again, in Isaiah 62:4, the Lord says, “No longer will they call you deserted or name your land desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah. For the Lord will take delight in you, and your land will be married.” God calls His bride, Jerusalem, “Hephzibah,” which means “My delight is in her.”

In Isaiah 62:12, the Lord promises, “They shall be called the holy people, the redeemed of the Lord; sought after, a city not forsaken.” God planned to change Israel’s name from deserted and desolate into many new names, showing that He was giving her a new beginning. Even today, though Israel is surrounded by enemies seeking her destruction, she survives because “God delights in her.” Truly, no weapon formed against her shall prevail. When God loves His people, He protects them and even turns every curse into a blessing.

Your first enemy, the devil, may try to bring curses upon you. But through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, every curse is broken and destroyed. Jesus rejoices over you, and He is coming back soon, very soon, to take us, His bride, into heaven. There, we will rejoice with Him forever. As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your God rejoices over you. And when the Spirit of God comes upon you, He fills you with inexpressible joy; that is how deeply the Lord delights in you.

PRAYER:
Loving Lord, thank You for rejoicing over me as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride. Thank You for calling me redeemed, holy, and not forsaken. I praise You because You take delight in me, and You protect me from every dart of the enemy and every curse. Lord, let Your Holy Spirit fill me with inexpressible joy and peace. Please keep my heart prepared for Your soon coming so that I can rejoice with You forever in heaven. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
