My precious friend, God is going to give you an abundant increase and returns for all that you have sown into His kingdom this month. The promise for this month is from Malachi 3:10, “I will throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Truly, God is a God of abundance. He gives us an abundance of grace (II Corinthians 9:8), abundant life (John 10:10), and abundant love (Exodus 34:6). He is the God who says, “I abound in love and forgive those who confess and repent.” He abounds in riches, too. Philippians 4:19 says, “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory.” Psalm 36:8 says, “You gave them drink from Your river of delights.”
God also opens the floodgates in judgment, as in Genesis 7:11 during Noah’s time, but to those who live righteously, He opens the windows of heaven to bless. Deuteronomy 28:8 says, “The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and everything you put your hand to.” This includes your family, job, business, studies, ministry, and governance. These blessings come when we obey the Lord. Deuteronomy 28:1–2 emphasises that blessings follow obedience. If God speaks to your heart to reconcile or to return something or to give generously, or to support His ministry, just obey. God will honour your obedience by opening the floodgates of heaven.
Hebrews 11:8 tells how Abraham obeyed and went, not knowing where he was going. Yet God gave him and Sarah a child, and an inheritance that became a mighty nation. Isaiah 51:2 and Genesis 26:4–5 remind us that God calls into existence things that are not there when we walk in obedience. Obedience opens heaven. As I Samuel 15:22 says, “Obedience is better than sacrifice.” Mary told the servants at the wedding, “Do whatever He tells you.” They obeyed, and water turned into the sweetest wine. The windows of heaven opened. In Acts 5:29, the apostles said, “We must obey God rather than men.” No one could stop them until their time came. They preached Jesus, performed miracles, and brought healing.
When you obey, no weapon formed against you will prosper. Obey and believe. Romans 5:19 says, “Many are made righteous through one man’s obedience.” Romans 4:14 promises miracles in answer to obedient and faith-filled prayers. I Corinthians 15:58 tells us to do the work of the Lord; your labour in the Lord is never in vain. Obey your parents (Ephesians 6:1), earthly masters (Ephesians 6:5), and even government laws, and you will prosper. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord (Ephesians 5:22-24), and salvation will come to the family through your humility. Jesus became poor so we might become rich (II Corinthians 8:9). He humbled Himself in obedience, and now the windows of heaven are open to us. Don’t rob God. Malachi 3 says to give one-tenth of your earnings to God. Fulfill your pledges. Support God’s ministry (Psalm 16:2), give to the poor (Isaiah 58:7-8), and wipe away the tears of others. As you obey, God will open the floodgates of heaven and pour out blessings you cannot hold.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for promising to open the floodgates of heaven. Fill my life with Your overflowing grace, love, and provision. Help me to walk in joyful obedience to Your Word. Teach me to give generously, trusting in Your divine supply. Let my heart be attentive to Your voice, always ready to follow. Bless the work of my hands and guide my every step. Help me to honour You with my life, my resources, and my relationships. Open doors no one can shut, and close every path not of You. May I live in the fullness of Your blessings, now and forever. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
