Dear friend, today the Lord has a beautiful verse for you from Proverbs 28:14. The Bible says, “Blessed and favoured by God is the man who fears Him at all times, but he who hardens his heart will fall into disaster.” How often and how long should we fear God? The Bible says we should always fear God. We must fear God even when we are not happy, without asking why. Fearing God is one of the duties given by God for us to follow. That is what the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 12:13, “This is the whole duty of man.” This makes a human being a whole man and a whole woman. Those who fear the Lord receive perfect blessings from God. A man and a woman are literally called to fear God.

In Proverbs 1:7, the Bible says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning and preeminent part of knowledge.” The Bible says it is not the end but the starting point. The more we fear God, the wisdom of God and the knowledge of God increase within us. This wisdom is nothing else but it is God Himself increasing within us. The Lord who has begun a good work in us completes this good work until the coming of the Lord. Yes, my friend, you and I are called by God to fear Him. Only if we fear God will we have the wisdom of God. Fearing God is looking upon God every day for our provisions.

Once, I happened to watch a sunflower looking up to heaven. It was literally facing heaven and looking up to the sun. From this sunflower, I learnt a valuable lesson about how we should look upon the Lord for everything. When we fear God for all things, we will truly be a blessed people. The Lord will perfect everything concerning us. We need to just fear God, that is all, and the Lord will perfect everything. It says “everything concerning us” in Psalm 138:8. The Lord will straighten all the crooked paths, and He will even widen our paths for us to walk straight. Today, the Lord is mindful of giving you such a perfect blessing.

PRAYER:
Loving Lord, please teach me to walk in reverential fear of You. Let my heart revere Your presence and Your Word. Fill me with divine wisdom that comes from fearing You. Help me to depend on You for every need of my life. Please straighten my paths, make me walk in Your truth and perfect everything that concerns me by Your grace. Keep my heart tender and never let it grow cold towards You. I surrender myself to walk in reverence for Your word and glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
