My friend, Luke 2:7 says, “Mary gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in clothes and placed Him in a manger.” Yes, Mary gave birth to a son exactly according to the prophetic guidance given to her, exactly as it was prophesied years before. In Isaiah 9, it was foretold that a virgin would bear a son, something impossible by human understanding. Yet when God brings new birth into your life, He makes the impossible possible. That is God. It happened exactly for the virgin Mary, as God had determined and spoken. Romans 4:17 says, “He calls those things which are not as though they were.” My friend, whatever you lack, God can call that blessing into being in your life. The One who made everything happen for Mary is with you.
Mary could never have conceived by natural means, but when God spoke, His Word created and birthed life. Exactly as He said, a son was born, Jesus, the Saviour. What God says will happen in your life. Let not your heart be troubled. You, too, will have this new blessing. Jesus, the Saviour, will be birthed in you; He will forgive all your sins. Mary gave herself to God for this blessing, and Jesus was birthed in her. When you give yourself to Jesus, He will forgive your sins, and the Saviour will be birthed in you. As it says in Matthew 1:23, “She gave birth to Emmanuel,” which means ‘God with us’. God with you will be birthed in you today.
And thirdly, as John 4:25 and Matthew 26:63 declare, He was birthed as the Anointed One, the Messiah. Jesus said, “Yes, I am the Christ, the Anointed One.” You, too, will have the Anointed One in you to enjoy the anointing of the Holy Spirit. According to Isaiah 61:1, when that anointing comes upon you, you will have the power to proclaim the good news, bind up the broken hearted, care for the poor, proclaim freedom for the captives, and release prisoners from darkness. You shall have the anointing of God. As Mary conceived and brought forth the Anointed One, the Saviour, Emmanuel, God with us always, so also Jesus will be in you and with you, because you have given yourself to Him.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your living Word. As You brought life into Mary, bring new life into me also. Lord, let Jesus, my precious Saviour and redeemer, be born in my life. Let His glory and miracle-working power, that are beyond human reason, manifest in my life. Lord, please forgive my sins and dwell within my heart as ‘Emmanuel’. Fill me with Your anointing and empower me to heal others and proclaim Your word, and also love one another as You want me to do. Let my life reveal Your glory and grace. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
