Dear friend, today we are going to meditate on Deuteronomy 31:6. Here God commands His people to be strong and courageous. “The Lord your God goes with you,” says the Word of God. What a blessing it is to have God with us. In the previous verse, the Lord says to His people that He will deliver their enemies into their hands and that they must do all that He has commanded. As the people were preparing themselves to go to war and stand on the battlefield, the Lord calls them to obedience. He tells them, " You are not going to fight alone; I will be there with you to fight your battle”.
What a wonderful thing it is to have God come along with us. When the Lord led the Israelites through the wilderness, He personally walked with them and provided everything they needed. Here again, we see Him standing with them and fighting for them. That is why the Psalmist declares in Psalm 118:6, “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Dear friend, keep repeating this verse, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” David also sings in Psalm 23, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” When we have God with us, we will be strong and courageous, bold like a lion.
People may come against us, but you are not going to fight them. It is the Lord who is going to fight your battle. The horse is prepared for the battle, but the victory comes from the Lord. Many times in the Bible, we read that the Lord fought for His people while they simply believed and followed Him. As a family, when we were going through difficult times, the Lord spoke to us through a word of prophecy: “Do not be disturbed. I am there with you, My children. My glory is upon you. Be patient, be in prayer, do not open your mouth, be quiet. I will fight your battle.” After hearing this, divine strength filled our hearts, and we rejoiced in the presence of the Lord. Our granddaughter Katie was so small then, yet she jumped with joy, laughing and expressing things she could not even speak. We truly felt the Holy Spirit upon her, and through her, the Lord strengthened us. Likewise, the Lord will strengthen you. Be strong, be courageous, and face the battle! The Lord is with you, dear friend.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for coming with me into every battle I face. When fear rises within me, please remind me that You are always with me. Strengthen my heart, Lord, and make me courageous. Help me to stay obedient to You and trusting in You. Fight my battles, Lord, and cover me with Your glory. I choose to have faith in You over fear today. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
