My dear friend, today we are meditating on Psalm 118:14. It says, “The Lord is my strength and my defence; He has become my salvation.” My friend, today you may be saying, “I’m weak and I’m worn out. I’m so tired and exhausted. I need some strength.” You may feel physically and emotionally drained, longing for a “pick-me-up”. But today, God is filling you with His strength.

When we see a big tree, we admire its beautiful branches, the shade it gives, the greenness of its leaves, and the strength of its trunk. We marvel at how firmly it stands. Yet many of us do not see what truly holds it steady, the roots. Deep beneath the surface, the roots spread wide into the soil, gripping firmly and giving the tree its strong foundation. Though unseen, they are the reason the tree stands tall and unshaken. In the same way, my dear friend, where does our strength come from? It comes from something unseen. In Daniel 6:10, we read how Daniel went to his upstairs room and prayed three times a day. That was his hidden root. And because of this, when people came against him, he could not be shaken; he stood firm. Similarly, the Bible instructs us to go into our room, close the door, and pray. In Matthew 6:6, it says, “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you openly.”

Yes, the true source of our strength is found in secret. It may not be visible to those around us, but when we pray in secret and draw strength from God, He rewards us openly and makes us stand strong. Today, you may feel tired and worn out. You may say, “After travelling so long for work, I don’t even have the strength to do anything when I come home.” Or, “After putting so much effort into my life, I still don’t see results. I can’t move forward. I feel weak and exhausted.” But my dear friend, even for your physical strength, God will provide. He will sustain you. His Word will bring life to your soul and spirit. He will strengthen you spiritually, giving you new revelations and fresh encouragement, reviving you just like a tree rooted deeply in the ground. So be of good cheer, my friend. Lean on God. Pray to Him in secret. And He will reward you in public, making you stand strong.

PRAYER:
Lord, today I feel tired, weak, and exhausted. At times, I find myself saying, “I need someone to pick me up.” But today, as I rest upon You, Lord, I pray that You fill me with new strength and lift me up. Revive my spirit, revive my body, and help me to be rooted in You; rooted in Your Word and rooted in Your presence. Lord, when I step out, let me receive fresh strength, new life, and renewed energy so that I can stand strong. Revive me this day and help me to face everything that comes my way with boldness. Thank You for pouring out Your strength upon me today. I receive it in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
