My friend, welcome to the month of May. I know that God has already started blessing you this month. We are here to hear about His blessing for today. I Timothy 6:17 talks about it: "As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, not to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy." This verse talks about a rich person.
Who is a rich person? A rich person is not someone who has so much wealth, so much money, so much property, so many things and possessions. That is not what makes a person rich. This verse says, “Do not be proud because of these things.” Why? Because they are not permanent. They are uncertain things. God showed that to Job. There was no one as rich as Job. He had all the properties, all the possessions, and a big family. Everything one could imagine! But in an instant, everything was taken away. God showed Job, and shows us that things can come and go.
Whatever we build in this world can be taken away in a moment. You are not rich because you have all these things. You are rich because you have Me, says the Lord. And when you have Me, I can give you anything at any time. As Haggai says: ‘“Silver and gold are Mine,” says the Lord.’ God showed that He could give Job back all his possessions, all his houses, and his family, even more beautiful than before, and twice as much as he had before. Yes, God can do it. You are rich when you have Jesus. God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. That’s our promise today. Would you claim it?
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for this new month of May. You are the One who richly provides all I need to enjoy. Help me never place my hope in uncertain riches. Let my heart rest in You alone, the true treasure of my life. Just like Job, I trust You in every season, gain or loss. Everything I have is Yours, and I know You can restore double. You are my Provider, my Portion, and my Peace. Let me rejoice in knowing that I lack nothing when I have You. Today, I claim Your promise with gratitude and joy. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
