Dear friend, today we are going to meditate on Psalm 33:12, which says, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance." In Psalm 135:4, the Bible says, "The Lord has chosen Jacob to be His own, Israel to be His treasured possession." God loved Israel. Israel and Jacob were the same. He cherished the nation of Israel as His own treasured possession. He promised to protect them and keep them as the apple of His eye. As long as they followed God, they were protected. That is why the Bible says in Deuteronomy 33:29, "Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious reward." How blessed are these people of Israel! The Lord Himself chose them, and then the Lord blessed them. God promised to bless them, and the people honoured Him. Finally, the Lord brought them into a land that was flowing with milk and honey.

As long as we follow the Lord, He will protect us and bless us. As in Exodus 23:25, the Lord not only prospered them, but also blessed their bread and water and took their sickness away from them. The Lord is so particular in minute details. In the next verse, the Lord says none shall miscarry or be barren in your land. The Lord made sure that they lived peacefully and happily. The Lord delighted in their well-being. Likewise, when you follow God and obey God, the Lord will protect and shield you, and not only that, He will make sure that you are safe and secure in His hands. In Exodus 19:5, the Lord says, "If you obey Me fully and keep My covenant, then out of all nations you will be My treasured possession." More than anybody around you, the Lord will keep you as a treasured possession.

Blessed are the people whom God chooses. Why should God choose you? First to be a blessing to the nation and then to all the people of the earth. The Lord chose Abraham and blessed him. When He blessed him, He said as in Genesis 12:2, "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great so that you will be a blessing." Dear friend, remember that the Lord has chosen you to be His treasured possession. You are His only possession. You are God's. May the Lord make you a blessing. The Lord has indeed chosen you to be a blessing.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for choosing me as Your treasured possession. Thank You for the love, protection, and blessings You have promised to those who follow and obey You diligently. Just as You kept Israel as the apple of Your eye, keep me close to You each day. Protect me from all harm, provide for my needs, and remove every sickness and sorrow from my life and home. Please help me to walk faithfully in Your ways so that I can be a blessing to nations, bringing glory to Your name. I surrender myself to You, Lord, for I belong to You alone. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
