“There is a great reward.” This is God’s promise for you, found in Psalm 19:11. This reward comes when you keep the commandments of God, when you keep His statutes. As you read in verses 8 and 9, the Bible says that because of the judgment of God, we receive a great reward. Why does God give this judgment? Verse 9 says it’s for the fear of God that is in you. God’s judgment for a reward is given when you fear the Lord and live righteously, giving your heart to Him. Not just a reward, but a great reward! You are going to have a great reward from the Lord. Those who sow in tears shall reap with joy. They will come back carrying sheaves, bundles of rejoicing. This is God’s plan for you - to give you returns along with joy in your life.
God wants you to richly enjoy every blessing He gives you. Not just the blessing, not just the salary, not just a “thank you” from your superior, not just praises from people, not just a house after years of labour, the Lord says, “Ask, and you will receive, so that your joy will be full.” Only Jesus can give you joy, and the joy of the Lord is your strength. God wants to reward you and give you a great reward. As it says in Matthew 19:29-30, for those who leave anything for the sake of Jesus Christ, He gives a hundredfold reward in this world, and also eternal life. That eternal life is the Kingdom of God, and the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. This is what God wants you to have. He wants you to enjoy the work of your hands, experience love and joy everywhere, have peace with everyone, go to bed in peace, wake up in peace, receive in peace, and above all, live in righteousness.
Yes, everyone shall call you righteous. Even the devil will say, “He is a righteous man,” “She is a righteous woman.” The most wicked will declare it, and you will be more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ, who keeps you righteous and loves you for your righteousness. May God give you this grace and bless you today with a great reward. God appeared to Abraham and said, “Abraham, I am your exceedingly great reward. Walk before Me with righteousness and humility. Just obey what I say. I Myself am your reward, and I will be with you.” What a joy!
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise that there is a great reward for those who walk in Your ways. I come before You with a humble heart, desiring to keep Your commandments and live in reverential fear of You. Lord, fill my life with righteousness, peace, and joy through Your Holy Spirit. Help me to sow in faith, even through my tears, knowing that You will bring a harvest of joy. Teach me to enjoy the blessings You give, not just the rewards of this world, but the joy that comes from Your presence. Let my heart overflow with gratitude and peace in every season. Let others see Your righteousness in me. Just as You told Abraham, “I am your exceedingly great reward,” I receive that word today. You, Lord, are my reward. Be with me always. Walk with me, guide me, and help me obey You with all my heart. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
