My dear friend, today we're meditating on Isaiah 41:13, which says, “For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’” What does the right hand signify? We use our right hand to do most of our work, to write an exam, to give money, to do our daily jobs, and even to eat. And today, God says, “I will take hold of your right hand.” He says, “Don’t fear, I will help you.” Maybe you’re saying, “Whatever I do is not prospering. I’m not able to have success in my job or in my studies. I’m not seeing any fruit in the work I do.” But God promises today that He is taking hold of your right hand with His righteous right hand.
What power does God have in His right hand? Exodus 15:6 declares, “Your right hand, Lord, was majestic in power. Your right hand, Lord, shattered the enemy.” That’s the power in God’s hand! And in Isaiah 41:10, God says, “I will strengthen you and help you, and I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Yes, God’s right hand will strengthen you, help you, and uphold you even when you feel like falling. We see this in Matthew 14:28–32, when Peter saw Jesus walking on water and stepped out in faith to go to Him. But when Peter looked around and saw the disturbances, the storm, the waves, he lost focus on Jesus. His eyes turned to the storm instead of the Saviour, and he began to sink.
Many times, when we focus on Jesus, we step out in faith, but as problems and trials arise, we shift our eyes from Him and focus on the storm around us, and we too begin to sink. Just like Peter, we fall. But Jesus came. He reached out His hand and caught Peter. Verse 31 says, “Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him.” In the same way, when you are drowning, Jesus will reach out His hand, He will catch your right hand, and He will lift you up. He will uphold you with His righteous right hand, strengthen you, and help you through all your problems. Yes, His hand is mighty, majestic in power, and shatters the enemy. That great and powerful hand will lift you up from all your troubles. If you’re saying today, “All the problems around me are right in front of me and I’m drowning,” know this- God is reaching forth His hand. He will pull you up. He is holding on to your hand. Do not fear. He will help you.
PRAYER:
Loving Lord, thank You for the promise that You are the Lord my God who takes hold of my right hand and says, “Do not fear, I will help you.” When I feel weak, when I’m overwhelmed and sinking in my troubles, please remind me that Your righteous right hand is mighty to save. Just as You reached out to Peter in the storm, I know that You will reach out to me. Please take hold of my hand today, Lord. Strengthen me, uphold me, and lead me through every storm. I place my trust in Your unfailing grip. I will not fear, for You are with me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
