Dear brothers and sisters, today’s Bible verse is taken from Psalm 37:23: “The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way.” What an incredible truth it is to know that God walks with us and directs our path every day. When the Israelites walked through the desert, the Lord walked with them and gave them manna every morning. With the strength of that manna, they were able to walk throughout the day. Likewise, the Lord gives us His Word so that we can walk with Him every day. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” When we have His Word in our hearts and follow it, we can walk along with Him, and He delights in our way. 

Psalm 119:133 says, “Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.” Yes, the Lord does not allow us to stumble. He protects us by giving us the right word for every day. That is what the Lord says in Isaiah 48:17: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” From His Word, we receive the best truth. People may advise us in many ways, but it is the Lord who orders our steps and delights in our path. 

Not only does He give us His Word, but He also puts His Word in our hearts. Psalm 37:31 says, “The law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip.” Yes, the steps of a righteous person are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in their way. When we delight in His Word, He also delights in our way.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for guiding my steps and directing my path through Your Word. Help me to walk with You every day and follow Your ways. Give me the right word and wisdom for every situation. Keep me from sin and protect me from stumbling. Let Your Word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Put Your Word deep within my heart and establish my steps in righteousness. Teach me what is best and lead me in the way I should go. May my life delight You as I delight in Your Word. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
