My friend, “Surely goodness and love will follow you all the days of your life” (Psalm 23:6). In another translation, it says, “goodness and mercy will follow you.” God’s mercy, people’s mercy, your family members’ mercy, even the mercy of your enemies will come to you. Do not be afraid. Goodness will come! Psalm 100:5 says, God is good, and His mercy endures forever in everything. James 1:17 reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights. He will never allow any darkness to come to you.

Everything will be full of light in your life. In Matthew 7:11, Jesus says, “If you, parents, can give good gifts to your children, even though you are evil people, how much more the God of goodness will give you the good gifts from heaven.” Surely God will give you good gifts. Jeremiah 32:40 declares that God will never stop doing good to you. We thank God for being with us all through this year.

His goodness and His mercy have followed us. Lamentations 3:22 says, “We are not consumed because of the mercy of God.” Sin could not devour us. Sickness could not devour us. Evil people could not devour us. The devil could not devour us. We have been more than conquerors because of the love of God and the mercy of God. His mercy has been new every morning this year, and it will come to you even in the new year. Let us praise the Lord. Shall we spend a few minutes praising the Lord?

PRAYER: 
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your goodness and mercy that follow me every day. I am not consumed because You watch over me, Lord. Thank You for keeping me away from sin, sickness, and evil. Thank You for Your light that chased away all the darkness in my life. As I step into the new year, I believe with all my heart that You will never stop doing good to me. Please fill my life with Your perfect reward and gifts from heaven. I praise You, Lord, and I trust You forever. In Jesus’ mighty name,  Amen.
